Illustrator and comic artist based in Leipzig, Germany. I create hand-drawn work with a focus on narrative.
After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts, I lived in Prague, Kyoto, and now Leipzig, exploring the differences and universalities between Asian and European sensibilities and visual languages through my practice.
I have collaborated on editorial, book, and cultural projects. I work with intuition, warmth, and a sense of playfulness. Alongside client work, I run the publishing and editorial label SEA SONS PRESS and contribute to the illustrated essay series Skizzenbuch. 岡島飛鳥｜ドイツ・ライプツィヒを拠点とするイラストレーター、コミックアーティスト。物語性にフォーカスした手描き作品を制作しています。東京藝術大学卒業後、プラハ、京都、ライプツィヒと移り住む中で、アジアとヨーロッパの感性および視覚言語の差異と、その中にある普遍性を見つめながら制作してきました。
